Interview with the Artist
Interviewer: How did you become an artist?
Artist: I started painting as soon as I could pick up a brush, so you could say I was born this way.
Interviewer: How is your artistic process?
Artist: Just as the historical artists relied on mirrors and magnifying glasses, I take advantage of the technology we have today.
My recent work aims to break free from all constraints, including the process. It´s not as easy as it sounds, especially after years of doing things a certain way, but it’s an essential move for any artist to evolve creatively.
Interviewer: Subject matter and inspiration?
Artist: I aim to be a conscientious painter. My collection ARS GRATIA MARIS celebrates the wonders of the sea, while AESOP offers a cautionary narrative for our modern era. My upcoming series, SURFACE TENSION, again turns to the ocean, exploring the fragile relationship between marine life and human influence. I feel the art world is oversaturated with depictions of the human figure, so I paint animals out of both love and concern, hoping to remind people that we share this planet with species we’re rapidly wiping out to make more space for ourselves.
Interviewer: How long does it take to paint a picture?
Artist: How long is a piece of string?
